Seventh Star Press is proud to announce Daniel Dark as the newest member of our author family, with two series that will bring readers dark Victorian experiences within the pages of his Knife’s Tell and Richard Mobius novels!
Blending horror and erotic elements, the Knife’s Tell novels begin with the self-titled first installment. The release of Knife’s Tell is planned for October of 2017 in both print and eBook formats, beginning a release schedule that will see at least one title published a year.
“Daniel Dark is a wonderful addition to our author family,” Stephen Zimmer of Seventh Star Press commented. “He has a unique voice as a writer, with a visceral, erotic style of horror. He lives and breathes the kind of Victorian atmosphere depicted in the settings of his books. Daniel is an author who has a genuine passion for his work and readers are going to find him a masterful storyteller.”
View a video synopsis of Knife’s Tell from Daniel Dark here:
About Knife’s Tell: In 1888 one of the most notorious serial killers in history plagued London’s East Side.
Knife’s Tell is not about those murders, but the life behind them. What would cause a normal person to slay in such a horrific way?
Daniel Dark has explored an alternative tale of a doctor lost in reality trying to correct his past. With the help of his personal servant, he searches the Chapel for answers about his connection to the man with the knife.
Where did he come from? And how is the doctor part of his plans for escaping the police at every turn?
Read Knife’s Tell to learn the story behind the blade that killed London.
About Daniel Dark: Daniel Dark, a native of Nashville, Tennessee, grew up with homicide every day. Having a homicide detective as a father, he was able to learn about those that were brought to justice, and the ones that were not.
Spending many hours in Central police headquarters and in his grandfathers hematology lab gave Daniel an unusual childhood and a love for science. Along with this, his great uncle owned the oldest book store in Nashville. His parents took him there regularly, where developed a love of reading and found out about history.
Daniel went on to become an Electrical Engineer and Industrial Maintenance Manager till NAFTA took away his job. A year later he went to culinary school and studied Victorian cooking, after which he opened a Victorian-style restaurant.
He became a heart and stroke survivor at fifty years old, where he used writing to rehabilitate his brain. The first book written by Daniel was on Victorian Catsup, which had over two hundred catsup recipes in it from the late 1700’s to 1910, with over sixty different flavors. Daniel used the book to start his 1876 Catsup company as Mr Catsup.
Knife’s Tell represents his debut novel as an author.

Seventh Star Press is proud to announce Michael Williams as the newest member of our author family with his visionary literary project, the mythical realism City Quartet novels!
The City Quartet represents an ambitious and unique literary project from the highly-acclaimed author of early novels in the best-selling DRAGONLANCE series such as Weasel’s Luck and Galen Beknighted. The project will see revised editions of the novels Trajan’s Arch and Vine: An Urban Legend, and the releases of the third and fourth books in the City Quartet, Dominic’s Ghosts and Tattered Men.
Release dates for the revised editions of Trajan’s Arch and Vine: An Urban Legend will be announced very soon, along with the release date for Dominic’s Ghosts. Tattered Men will have a 2018 release date. The City Quartet novels will be released in both print and eBook formats.
“It is a great honor to be able to work with Michael to bring this project to readers everywhere,” Stephen Zimmer of Seventh Star Press commented. “The City Quartet weaves together exceptional literary quality and masterful storytelling, and these books represent a great contribution to the literary world, as well as being engaging, entertaining reads. A project like this does not come along often for a press and we are thrilled to be a part of bringing Michael’s vision to life.”
About the City Quartet: Four books (to be read in any order) centering on a mid-Southern city in which familiar human stories—coming of age, romantic triangles, political conspiracies, and crime investigations—take mythic form, and characters, anchored in the everyday, glimpse larger, inevitable patterns in the world around them.
The first book of the City Quartet is Trajan’s Arch, where a young man’s coming of age is haunted by his past, both figuratively and literally. The second book is Vine: An Urban Legend, in which an amateur performance of Euripides’ The Bacchae is disrupted by the god himself. The two novels may already be familiar to Williams’ readers, but they are the first members of the quartet, revised and re-visioned to fit a new, mythically charged world.
They will be joined by two other volumes: Dominic’s Ghosts, in which a silent film festival sparks an invasion of the city by figures from Central Europe’s nightmarish past, and Tattered Men, in which a burnt-out middle-aged writer, investigating the apparent murder of a homeless man, finds that the victim has traveled through worlds unimaginably large and ancient.
Each of these books can stand alone, but readers will discover that plots, characters, and patterns spill from one book to another, until the City Quartet forms a coherent, mythical world that celebrates our own mysteries and interconnections.
More about Michael: Over the past 25 years, Michael Williams has written a number of strange novels, from the early Weasel’s Luck and Galen Beknighted in the best-selling DRAGONLANCE series to the more recent lyrical and experimental Arcady, singled out for praise by Locus and Asimov’s magazines. His most recent books are Trajan’s Arch and Vine, an Urban Legend—novels he characterizes as “mythical realism”: in Trajan’s Arch, stories fold into stories and a boy grows up with ghostly mentors, and Vine mingles Greek tragedy and urban legend, as a local dramatic production in a small city goes humorously, then horrifically, awry.
Williams was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and spent much of his childhood in the south central part of the state, the red-dirt gothic home of Appalachian foothills and legends of Confederate guerrillas. Through good luck and a roundabout journey he made his way through New England, New York, Wisconsin, Britain and Ireland, and has ended up less than thirty miles from where he began. He has a Ph.D. in Humanities, and teaches at the University of Louisville, where he focuses on the the Modern Fantastic in fiction and film. He is married, and has two grown sons.

Seventh Star Studios is proud to announce the casting of Sól Geirsdóttir to bring the heroic Rayden Valkyrie character to life onscreen in the TV pilot Rayden Valkyrie: Saga of a Lionheart.
Sól will star as Rayden Valkyrie, an iconic warrior in a dark age who leads a mercenary war band to rescue a group of captives destined for slave markets. When some of the surviving raiders take a pair of female captives with them, seeking escape into an ancient forest said to harbor deadly perils, Rayden does not hesitate to pursue them. In the shadows of the forest, Rayden and her companions must overcome monstrous threats and deadly sorcery to prevail.
“Sól Geirsdóttir is our Rayden,” Director/Screenwriter Stephen Zimmer said. “During our extensive search, we have seen many very talented actresses, but Sól conveyed the right kind of presence needed for this pivotal character. Sól has a passion for the genre, for history, and loves a good sword fight. I know that Sól is dedicated to bringing the best performance possible to the screen, and I am absolutely confident that audiences are going to love Sól and the Rayden Valkyrie character when they see this show. Rayden Valkyrie is my favorite character to write, and I am thrilled that Sól will be the one to portray her onscreen.”
Rayden Valkyrie: Saga of a Lionheart represents the first onscreen portrayal of the Rayden Valkyrie character. The character’s literary debut occurred in Stephen Zimmer’s sword and sorcery novel Heart of a Lion. The story in the TV pilot is not an adaptation of the novel, but rather an original storyline envisioned to be the foundation for a series of episodes filled with Rayden Valkyrie adventures.
Rayden Valkyrie: Saga of a Lionheart is scheduled for production late spring on locations in Kentucky and represents the first visual media project for Seventh Star Studios, a division of Seventh Star Press, a publisher of speculative fiction based out of Lexington, Kentucky.

She has worked with Ron Newcomb, Ian Hencher, John Wells, Marita Tathariel and many more.
Sól is an alternative model and has been featured in several magazines such as Fae Magazine and Dark Beauty. She currently attends the University of Oslo pursuing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. In addition to this, she is a trained vocalist, an accomplished belly dancer and a seemstress specialized in Viking Era clothing. Seventh Star Press is proud to welcome Nathan Day into our family of authors. Orphan Surfacing, the first novel in the epic-scale, cross-genre Orphan Saga, will be released in print and eBook editions this summer!
“Nathan Day is a tremendous addition to the Seventh Star Press family,” said Stephen Zimmer, a founding member of Seventh Star Press. “Readers are going to be enthralled with the Orphan Saga, which defies categorization. Truly a brilliant cross-genre series with loads of action and intellectual depth. This series definitely speaks to our times, and Nathan’s talent brings it alive.”
Synopsis of Orphan:
God is dead.
The war between Heaven and Hell had waged for eons, spiraling towards its inevitable conclusion as the Book of Revelations began to unfold. Mankind, most unknowingly or unbelievingly caught in the crossfire, had played small but critical roles throughout its history. But when an unimaginable act resets the balance of power, no outcome remains guaranteed and all of creation teeters on the brink of oblivion.
A dark stage has been set.
Heaven falls silent. Its once glorious armies plunge into disarray while their hellish counterparts thrive unattested. The demon Uzahl sews corruption as it stalks Traci Nicholas and her son, Solomon, whose mysterious gifts surge in strength.
Something stirs.
After turning from God, Athiel had spent four decades in the depths of the Pacific reconciling his lost faith with the suffrage he had witnessed. Suddenly he is jolted awake and inexplicably drawn back to the surface and the world of man, no longer sure to which world he belongs.
Kings advance their pawns.
The enigmatic Manuel Valdez watches events unfold, sending deadly S.W.A.R.M. assault teams to eradicate angelic and demonic targets to further his shadowy agenda.
Hope remains.
In the city of Lanza del los Santos, the Big Apple of the West, stands the Cathedral of Saint Michael. Within its walls the angelic captain Dycliasses safeguards Joseph, a charismatic young priest scarred by a terrifying vision. If they can survive the enemy at their gates they may yet have a chance to stem the growing darkness.
