Seventh Star Press Proudly Welcomes AshleyRose Sullivan to Our Author Family!

ARSullivan Author Photo

Seventh Star Press is proud to welcome AshelyRose Sullivan to its author family with the addition of two fascinating and imaginative new series!

The first series, Cape and Cowl, is a super hero fairy tale that brings to life the world of Awesome Jones.  The series gets underway with the release of the first book, The Astonishing Adventures of Awesome Jones and Lona Chang, in early 2014.

Readers of the first book will discover that the only thing Awesome Jones wants is to be a super hero. Until he falls in love.

Despite his colorful name, Awesome Jones is a painfully average man who dreams of being a super hero, just like the ones who patrol his city. It’s been that way since he was a little boy, raised by his grandfather after his parents’ death.

The day Jones starts his new job as a file clerk at Akai Printing Company he meets secretary Lona Chang and everything changes. Lona sees something in Jones that no one ever has and the two quickly become inseparable. But when the perfect pair’s domestic bliss is threatened by a super-powered secret from the past, Awesome Jones has to make a choice. He must decide whether he should play it safe or find the strength to live up to his name and risk everything he’s come to love to save the day like he always dreamed.

Also to be published by Seventh Star Press is the cross-genre/alt-history YA series Quicksilver, which will debut in 2014 with the first book Silver Tongue, followed by Silver Coat, and then Silver Smith.

Silver Tongue introduces Claire, a daughter of Sky Clan, who carries the power of persuasion, a way with words that is more than just skillful; it’s supernatural.  When a dear friend’s family is murdered, Claire must embark on a journey with her companions that will see them cross paths with a host of characters from both antiquity and literature, including Auguste Dupin, an idealistic P.T Barnum, and the mysterious, alluring William Frankenstein.

Claire’s story is a mix of fantasy and fact, full of magic, monsters, and mystery on the Mighty Mississippi. Weaving together fantasy themes like loyalty and self-discovery with tropes from classical literature and an off-kilter American history, Silver Tongue promises to be a bright new addition to the speculative fiction realms!

On coming aboard Seventh Star Press, AshelyRose stated, “I’m so excited to be working with Seventh Star Press. I’ve been a fan for some time. Their consistently beautiful artwork, dedication to marketing and promoting their authors, and their connection to fans is second to none.”

Born and raised in Appalachia, AshleyRose Sullivan now lives, writes, and paints in Los Angeles. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University. Her work has been published in places like Word RiotThe Medulla Review, and Scape: YA Zine.

She can be found at her website or her daily blog My Year Of Star Trek.

Cover Reveal for the Re-Issue of Michael West Novel The Wide Game!

Seventh Star Press is proud to reveal the new cover art from the award-winning Matthew Perry for the re-issue of Michael West’s The Wide Game, a Harmony, Indiana Novel!

The 2nd edition of The Wide Game was edited by Amanda DeBord and joins other novels from West such as Cinema of Shadows and Spook House in taking horror fans into the fascinating and often dangerous realm of Harmony, Indiana.

In The Wide Game, Paul Rice, on the advice of his wife, is making plans to attend his 10th year High School reunion.  Returning to his boyhood home of Harmony, Indiana, he finds that he is still haunted by memories of that time–memories of Deidra, his first love, and memories of the Wide Game.  It was ten years ago that Paul and his friends watched their day of fun become a race for their lives, a fight for their very souls.

Now, as he meets the survivors of that day once more, Paul makes a chilling discovery: the incomprehensible forces that toyed with them have yet to finish playing their own game.

Originally published in trade paperback by Graveside Tales, The Wide Game was the first Harmony, Indiana novel released, but has never before been made available in hardcover and eBook formats.  Michael recently commented on the re-release, and the expanded availability in more formats.

The Wide Game was my first novel, and it holds a special place in my heart and the hearts of all my faithful readers everywhere.  This is something they have been requesting for years!  Not a day goes by without messages and emails asking me when The Wide Game would be available as an eBook.  Still others have asked if it would ever be available in hardcover.  I am thrilled that Seventh Star Press will now be offering the work in both formats, and I hope that even more readers will now get to see how the Harmony, Indiana series all began.”

Michael is the critically-acclaimed author of Cinema of Shadows, Spook House, Skull Full of Kisses, and The Legacy of the Gods series. He lives and works in the Indianapolis area with his wife, their two children, their bird, Rodan, their turtle, Gamera, and their dog, King Seesar.

He has made certain there are no cornfields near his home.

The Wide Game will be released in trade paperback and eBook formats during the beginning of June, with a limited edition hardcover to follow. For further information on The Wide Game and Michael West’s other releases, please visit the author’s site at www.bymichaelwest.com or Seventh Star Press at www.seventhstarpress.com
