Cover Reveal for the Marathonarium Anthology, Volume One, Edited By Sandy Lender!

Cover reveal today for the Marathonarium Anthology, a special anthology presented by the Imaginarium Convention and edited by Sandy Lender, that features nine fantastic authors who took part in a special writing workshop hosted last year! The Marathonarium Anthology will be available in print and ebook editions on June 22nd!

The cover for the Marathonarium Anthology was designed by Olivia Pro Design!

Synopsis of the Marathonarium Anthology, Volume One:

Welcome to the Marathonarium Anthology of short stories! This set of fiction and the experience collecting it encapsulates the spirit of the Imaginarium Convention, an event for writers, storytellers, and creatives of all genres held in Louisville, Kentucky each year!

You have before you the creative fortitude of nine determined storytellers who not only plunged into the madness that is marathon writing for three solid hours, but who also stepped outside of their comfort zones to hand over their unedited and hastily crafted works to be read by a stranger.

What began as a workshop to help authors complete a story for publication while producing a compendium to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of the Imaginarium Convention turned into a family of nine creative minds pushing themselves to the limit!

In the end, the writers accomplished something spectacular.

I mean, have you ever written a four-thousand-word story with beginning, middle, and end in three hours? And then have you turned that mass of words over to an editor for her review and suggestions?

It’s downright frightening. But the authors you’re about to meet (or meet again) in the following pages did that exact thing and lived to tell the tale…

The nine authors spotlighted in Volume 1 in the order that their stories are presented in the book are:

W. Jade Young

Brian T. Ronk

Alisa Childress

Jeannene Walker

Jen Selinsky

Lisa Mildon

Clayton Barnett

Carma Haley Shoemaker

Tom Ukinski

Death has a way of drawing people together, and it’s no exception for Betty Hall and her mother, Zoe Payne. With the death of Innocence ‒ Betty’s daughter and Zoe’s granddaughter ‒ the two were again united but for only a few short weeks.

One day, not long after Zoe returned to her home with a traveling circus in California, Betty received a call from the Santa Monica police saying her mother’s body had washed up under its famous pier. The following day, Betty, her dad FJ, and his friend Ray Harris boarded a plane bound for L.A. to retrieve the body and bring her mother home.

Lucia Torres’s grandmother was concerned about her granddaughter. Why? Lucia Torres was becoming a young woman.

Unfortunately, the human monsters that occasionally invaded her little Mexican town would also take note. Their hearts would be filled with lust, and make no mistake about it, the monsters would want to pluck the little budding flower.

Call it fate. Call it destiny. Soon Betty Hall and Lucia Torres’s lives would collide, all thanks to the Phantom of the Circus.

About the Author:

I’ve been lucky to be with Seventh Star Press (SSP) for five years. Stephen and Holly are beautiful people, as are all the members of the SSP family. My first novel in the SSP franchise, Tybee Island H-Bomb, won the 2020 Imadjinn Award for the best thriller. Since then, we’ve come out with a sequel, Death of Innocence. Holly is looking at a short story, a prequel to Tybee Island H-Bomb. I’m also about to finish another novel in the Tybee Island series. Hopefully, it will be in SSP’s hands in the next month or so.

My wife of thirty years next February, Stephanie, and I live in Owensboro, Kentucky. Owensboro is a small town on the Ohio River in the western part of the state. We have five kids and ten grandkids, with a new one on the way. I mustn’t forget Tony, our pound puppy. Okay, he weighs in at fifty pounds, so I wouldn’t necessarily call him a puppy. The point is, I don’t want to leave him out. The last time I did, he pouted for over a week. I started writing back in 2012, and I self-published several works.

SSP is thinking about re-publishing several. In addition, I have another completed manuscript in SSP’s hands. It’s about an assassin with Autism.

Cover reveal today for the brand new contemporary fiction novel from Lawrence Weill, Pan and the Message Chair, the first book in his new Wylers Ford Series! Pan and the Message Chair will be available in print and ebook editions from Seventh Star Press on May 31!

The cover for Pan and the Message Chair was designed by Olivia Pro Design. Stephen Zimmer served as the editor for the novel.

What will develop from this encounter? And just who is this Pan?

Pan and the Message Chair is very human commercial fiction as it recounts one man’s growth through grief and sorrow to hope with the help of a mysterious friend with whom he exchanges gifts and notes by placing them on a log chair in a meadow.

This is an organic southern story that will resonate and inspire in these trying and difficult times. It has strong character development and a compelling, moving plot. Pan and the Message Chair is a deep, thoughtful investigation into the meaning of life, love and love lost.

About the Author:

Lawrence has six books in print, four novels, one memoir, and one nonfiction. He has a contract for three more. He writes literary novels, short fiction, non-fiction articles and books, creative non-fiction, and poetry.

His work has appeared in a wide range of local, regional, and national journals. He also is a visual artist working in graphite, oils, metal and wood. Dr. Weill lives in the woods in Kentucky overlooking a beaver pond next to a wildlife preserve. He is also an avid outdoorsman and gardener.

Cover Art Reveal and Announcement for New Print-Only Compendium from Stephen Zimmer, The Rayden Valkyrie Tales, Volume I!

Seventh Star Press is proud to reveal the cover art by Olivia Pro Design for a new print-only release, The Rayden Valkyrie Tales, Volume I, by Stephen Zimmer! This new compendium will be available on November 21st, just in time for the holiday season!

The Rayden Valkyrie Tales, Volume I, will contain the first three novellas previously released in the collection on eBook formats. These novellas include Blood of a Queen, Winds of War, and The Sun’s Caress.

The novellas in the Rayden Valkyrie Tales collection will continue to be released and made available individually on eBook formats and the compendium is only being released in a print edition. Print compendiums are a great way to make the Rayden Valkyrie tales available to readers who do not have eReaders or prefer print formats.

Here are the synopsis of the three novellas included in this exciting new compendium!

Blood of a Queen: Traveling farther east, Rayden Valkyrie comes upon a city shrouded in fear and anger.

A devastating drought has been followed by a nightmarish rash of brutal murders and disappearances that only occur after the sun goes down. A few witnesses speak of terrifying, monstrous wraiths prowling the streets at night.

The ruler of Terith-Ka, Queen Annukeyen, claims that the demonic entities have been summoned through dark magic wielded by sorcerers in the rival city of Rastapur. A war looms and the people clamor for vengeance against the city they believe has caused their suffering.

Rayden suspects something much darker at work underneath the simmering atmosphere of Terith-Ka. When all others have gone inside with the fall of night, Rayden heads into the empty streets of the city to find answers and confront the evil plaguing a frightened populace.

Blood of a Queen is a stand-alone novella that is part of the Rayden Valkyrie Tales.

Winds of War: The winds of war are stirring.

The kings of Thrakkia and Samosia quarrel with each other as a wave of invaders from a powerful empire crashes upon the shores of the nearby Kingdom of Pargemon.

Having finished a harrowing mission aiding the Thrakkians deep in their mountains, Rayden Valkyrie understands the looming, perilous threat from the Astrian Empire. Without unity, none of the Griacan kingdoms stand a chance against the much larger invasion that Rayden knows will follow the conquest of Pargemon.

With time dwindling fast and the kings set on a course to weaken each other in battle, Rayden undertakes a bold mission. The fate of many lands hangs in the balance

Winds of War is a stand-alone novella that is part of the Rayden Valkyrie Tales

The Sun’s Caress: At the edge of the world, far to the east, Rayden has joined with a band of pirates led by Timiko, the young widow of a great warrior revered for showing compassion and generosity to the powerless toiling in the fields and villages on the islands of Yamatainu.

When word arrives that a raiding fleet is approaching under the command of the pirate Fujimara, a man known for extreme cruelty and barbarity, Timiko and Rayden know that the villages throughout their region are in great peril.

Though greatly outnumbered, Timiko’s fleet sets out against all odds to confront Fujimara’s raiders.

The Sun’s Caress is a stand-alone eBook novella that is part of the Rayden Valkyrie Tales.

Seventh Star Press is Proud to Reveal the Cover Art for Victorian Catsup: Receipts of the Past by Daniel Dark!

Seventh Star Press is proud to reveal the cover art by Olivia Pro Design for Victorian Catsup: Receipts of the Past, by Daniel Dark, a fascinating new recipe book that explores the creation of catsups enjoyed during an iconic historical era! Victorian Catsup: Receipts of the Past has a release date of May 29th in both print and eBook formats!

Victorian Catsup: Receipts of the Past was edited by Bobby Rich.

Synopsis of Victorian Catsup: Receipts of the Past: The book you now hold in your hands is nothing new, only forgotten by most.

It is also how Chef Daniel, the Victorian Chef, recovered many missing segments of his knowledge after suffering a major stroke in 2012.  At that time, Daniel had a forty seat restaurant where he was recreating dishes from the Victorian Era.  He was also developing his signature catsups to serve with each receipt that he placed on the menu.

After the stroke, Daniel was forced to give up on his dream for the time being and start the long journey of rehabilitation, of both body and mind. When Chef Daniel was able to stand in front of a stove again, he went back to what he knew best; making small batch catsup that he took to local fairs and sold, so that he could make more.

This book is a big part of what kept Chef Daniel going each day. Now he wants to share that with others by contributing ninety percent of his proceeds to the Blood Banks that kept him alive by furnishing over twenty units to him when he was in need.

Your purchase of this book will help in making his charity to the real lifeblood possible.

About Daniel Dark: Daniel Dark, a native of Nashville, Tennessee, grew up with homicide every day. Having a homicide detective as a father, he was able to learn about those that were brought to justice, and the ones that were not.

Spending many hours in Central police headquarters and in his grandfathers hematology lab gave Daniel an unusual childhood and a love for science. Along with this, his great uncle owned the oldest book store in Nashville. His parents took him there regularly, where developed a love of reading and found out about history.

Daniel went on to become an Electrical Engineer and Industrial Maintenance Manager till NAFTA took away his job. A year later he went to culinary school and studied Victorian cooking, after which he opened a Victorian-style restaurant.

He became a heart attack and stroke survivor at fifty years old, where he used writing to rehabilitate his brain. The first book written by Daniel was on Victorian Catsup, which had over two hundred catsup recipes in it from the late 1700’s to 1910, with over sixty different flavors. Daniel used the book to start his 1876 Catsup company as Mr Catsup.

Knife’s Tell represents his debut novel as an author.
