Synopsis: Somewhere Between Scooby-Doo and Supernatural

The Road Ghosts Trilogy introduced readers to E. Chris Garrison, one of speculative fiction’s most gifted voices. Presented here for the first time in a single volume, you’ll meet amateur ghost hunters Brett and Liz, along with their friends Gonzo, Jimbo, and Frannie. Go along for the ride as the gang chases ghosts and battles demons, ghouls, and stranger things up and down the interstate highways of the Midwest.

The Road Ghosts Trilogy spawned several short stories (such as “Spectral Delivery,” included here!) and introduces readers to “Skye” MacLeod, whose adventures continue in Garrison’s popular Tipsy Fairy Tales Series. This omnibus volume includes:

Four ’til Late (Road Ghosts Trilogy, Book 1) Brett, Gonzo, Jimbo, and Liz embark on a road trip with dangerous detours, dreadful dreams and dire warnings. Along the way they discover that some spirits leave you with more than a hangover and regrets. Turn up the radio and get moving, because the road ghosts are waiting.

Sinking Down (Road Ghosts Trilogy, Book 2) Brett and Liz are back in over their heads when a forest hunt for a roadkill-eating creature offers up a ghoulish little surprise. Worse than that, they find that Brett’s fate is linked to the creature’s. So it’s back out on the road, with unexpected pit stops with a greedy ex, a convention of ghost hunters, partying with fake vampires, and drinking and fighting alongside Uncle Gonzo.

Me and the Devil (Road Ghosts Trilogy, Book 3) Brett, Liz, and Gonzo undertake a difficult three-night webcast leading up to Halloween. If they’re successful, they may finally get the recognition Brett seeks. But ever since the events in Sinking Down, Brett has been a little… off. On the first night of the webcast, Brett’s sudden tantrum both boosts ratings and terrifies his friends. As Halloween approaches, Brett’s friends find themselves in a desperate fight to save his soul — and his life.

“Spectral Delivery” (Bonus Short Story) Meet Enid, a pizza delivery trainee who’s stuck riding along with ghost-geek Brett on Valentine’s Day night. Her boyfriend begs her to try to get off early, but things get weirder and weirder as she and Brett encounter the paranormal at every stop.

Anderson O’Donnell Comes Aboard Seventh Star Press With Kingdom and Other Tiber City Novels

Seventh Star Press is proud to announce that Anderson O’Donnell is coming aboard with his highly-acclaimed dystopian/noir novel Kingdom and future books featuring Tiber City!

Kingdom will be released as a second edition by Seventh Star Press during the summer of 2014, with future Tiber City novels to follow!  It will be issued in trade paperback in all eBook formats.

Original cover of 1st
edition of Kingdom

Kingdom became an indie book sensation in 2012, when Kirkus Reviews made it one of their top 25 Indie Books of 2012, saying this about the novel: “A taut, brilliantly conceived thriller with impeccable pacing bursting with ideas…For fans of noir-laden science fiction in the vein of Philip K. Dick that is in equal measures suspenseful, gripping, darkly funny and philosophically challenging.”

Kingdom takes the reader into a secret laboratory hidden under the desert, where a covert bioengineering project—codename “Exodus”—has discovered the gene responsible for the human soul.

Somewhere in the neon sprawl outside the nation’s collapsing economic core, a group of renegade monks are on the verge of uncovering a secret that has eluded mankind for centuries.

In a glittering tower high above the urban decay, an ascendant U.S. Senator is found dead—an apparent, yet inexplicable, suicide.

And in the streets below, a young man races through an ultra modern metropolis on the verge of a violent revolution….closing in on the terrible truth behind Exodus—and one man’s dark vision for the future of mankind.

Welcome to Tiber City.

Obsessed with Dystopian/noir fiction, the Clash, and his two sons, Anderson O’Donnell holds an undergraduate degree in English from the College of the Holy Cross. He has studied creative writing extensively with biopunk genre master Jack O’Connell and poet Robert Cording, whose work influenced Kingdom’s high/low culture dynamic. Anderson lives in Washington, DC, with his family.

Peter Welmerink Welcomed to SSP Author Family!

For Immediate Release
September 12, 2013

Seventh Star Press Proudly Welcomes Peter Welmerink to Our Author Family!

PeterWelmerink

Seventh Star Press is proud to welcome Peter Welmerink to its author family with the addition of the Transport Series, a military thriller of the post-apocalyptic kind, with zombies! The horror-laced series debuts with the release of the first novella, Transport, in early 2014.

Transport begins in the year 2025. When Commissioner Wilhelm DeGage’s helicopter goes down in hostile territory, it is up to Captain Jacob “Jake” Billet and his crew to bring the official home. With only an armored personnel carrier, Jake and his crew brave the infected lands, pushed to the limits of their honor in order to protect DeGage despite the horror of his past transgressions.

And then there are the zombies.

Getting from Point A to Point B has never been so dangerous.

Regarding coming aboard Seventh Star Press, Peter said, “Outside of the kick-ass books/titles SSP puts out, from the people I have spoken to who have worked or are working with SSP, SSP seems a very author-centric publisher, meaning they seem to really work and care for their crew of literary artisans. I want to work just as hard for a publisher if they appear to want to work just as hard for me, the author. Like I said, the people I have spoken to who have or do work with SSP say this is so. I want to be under that roof, in that family.”

Peter Welmerink has been published in various online and wood pulp publications, mainly in the realms of Dark Fantasy and Sword & Sorcery. Peter’s biggest novel endeavor to date was a collaborative effort with Steven L. Shrewsbury, entitled Bedlam Unleashed. His most recent published short story was published in Fading Light: An Anthology of the Monstrous.  His is married with a small barbarian horde consisting of three rambunctious boys.

Aaron

Seventh Star Press is proud to welcome A. Christopher Drown to its author family, with the addition of his Heart of the Sisters Series.  The fantasy series gets underway with the reissue of the first novel, the award-winning A Mage of None Magic, to be released in the beginning of 2014.

Readers of fantasy everywhere can expect well-crafted, original storytelling in the Heart of the Sisters Series.   The story unleashes a clash of science and magic like no other in a world where powerful magicians strive to keep knowledge suppressed in order to maintain their authority and the status quo.

A Mage of None Magic follows the story of a nineteen year old apprentice, Niel, a thousand years after a major cataclysm unleashed by the legendary magician Uhniethi razed the College of Magic that the young man now seeks to attend.  Unforeseen events diverting him from his journey to the College, Niel soon finds himself at the center of a quest involving the Heart of the Sisters, an ancient gem reputed to hold the power to destroy all magic in the world.

Niel’s quest will take him deeper into the legend, where he will discover the truth of magic, the College itself, and other revelations that have the potential to transform the world.

Commenting on joining Seventh Star Press, A. Christopher Drown stated, ” If I had to distill the multitude of reasons for my excitement over joining Seventh Star Press, the word at which I’d arrive would be “enthusiasm.” As an onlooker, the happy and pervasive zeal with which the folks at SSP approached all their endeavors was enticing and contagious. Now, as a member of their amazing assemblage of writers, I’m eager not just to have that collective energy working on my behalf, but to lend my support to others who share my love of storytelling, and to play a role in SSP growing and achieving everything I’m convinced it can.”

A. Christopher Drown is a native of Brunswick, Maine, and currently resides in Memphis. His work has appeared in Tales of the Unanticipated, Shots!, and Alien Skin magazines, and in such anthologies as Beacons of Tomorrow, Sky-Tinted Waters and A Tall Ship, A Star, and Plunder.
